Hiragana Chart

Here is a Hiragana chart. Hiragana is one of the Japanese writing systems. It is used to ease communication between parties.

To read the table, use it like a standard multiplication table. The top letters are the first letter/sound pronunciation. The right row are the second letter in which the character is pronounced. The character at the point the row and column meet is the what it makes. The first column (down) are vowels. They are pronounced as the character next to them. A (Ahh), I (E), U (Ooh), E (Aaa), O (O).

Example: Row (across) , and second column (down) have K, at the top, and A on the left. Therefore they make Ka (Ka).

Replacements

The following are replacements. The difference between these and the ones above are there tenten's which are basically a "(quotation mark), and the maru, a circle, next to the character. The only characters are H's, T's, S's, and K's. The table is read the same way as instructed above.

Blended Sounds

The following is the blended sounds. They are a combo of Hiragana characters with the characters Ya, Yu and Yo. For example the example in the first row, farthest column to the left. Would be Rya, because the character Ri, is combined with ya(り+や=りゃ). You take the first letter pronunciation of the first character (sometimes two), and two letters from the second character pronunciation (sometimes one) and put them together. The table is read the same as the above tables. You must understand that the second letter must be written smaller then the first to make it a blended sound! This is only works with the characters listen below... Theres no such this as のゃ, and もゃ.
